Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Rich Ruth crafts expansive, genre-defying soundscapes that merge spiritual jazz, post-rock, Berlin school synths, and drone into a singular, meditative force. His latest release on Third Man Records, Water Still Flows—described by Aquarium Drunkard as a “woozy kaleidoscope” of sonic experimentation—continues the visionary trajectory set by his acclaimed 2022 breakthrough I Survived, It’s Over, hailed by MOJO as “a modern spiritual-jazz indebted wonder.” With mixing credits from Jake Davis and John McEntire and mastering by Mikey Young, Ruth’s recordings are richly layered works of ambient psychedelia and emotional depth.
